Vernice 'FlyGirl' Armour to keynote 2018 Global SAFe Summit

America's first African-American female combat pilot has joined the keynote lineup for the Global SAFe Summit in Washington, DC. Leveraging her 'Breakthrough Mentality' and 'Get Gutsy' mindset, Vernice 'FlyGirl' Armour propelled herself from beat cop to combat pilot in a record-breaking three years.

FlyGirl's fresh, edgy style, high, contagious energy, and unique, gutsy essence jump off the stage, page, and screen and moves people to action. Since 2007, she has inspired countless organizations and individuals to make gutsy moves and create breakthrough results. The Global SAFe Summit will also be keynoted by tech company advisor and author Geoffrey Moore, with other keynotes still to be announced. What is the SAFe Summit?

If you ask last year’s attendees, you’ll get a variety of answers. Some found it to be a great way to develop their skills for a specific role or application. Some found it to be a valuable networking event, while some wanted to be the first to learn, see, prod, and poke the freshest ideas for leveraging the Framework. First Regional SAFe Summit concludes as a major success in Frankfurt, Germany

A big thank you to all the people who made the first Regional SAFe Summit such a great success! Around 450 attendees, including representatives from 46 Scaled Agile Partners, participated in a full schedule of keynotes, technical sessions, customer success stories, exhibits, and extensive networking opportunities.

Scaled Agile joins ITCC Agile Development Task Force 

Members of Scaled Agile, Inc.'s certification team have been invited to join the Agile Development Task Force of the IT Certification Council (ITCC). As Agile software development practices advance to address today's ever-changing software demands, the task force helps ensure that tests and certifications are reliable, valid, and fair. 

“As Agile becomes more important for our enterprise members responding to digital disruption, the ability for certification to match the progression of developments in Agile practices is essential,” said Kristin Gibson, ITCC President. “Scaled Agile brings extensive experience and expertise in Agile software development training and certification to the IT Certification Council.”

Testing and Quality in the Scaled Agile Framework for Lean Enterprises 

SAFe is the most popular framework used to help large programs and entire companies achieve business agility. A new eBook from EuroSTAR Software Testing, Testing and Quality in the Scaled Agile Framework for Lean Enterprisesdescribes the guidance SAFe provides for testing and quality practices.

Authors Derk-Jan de Grood and Mette Bruhn-Pedersen, who work as testing professionals for Valori and SafeJourney, respectively, also suggest additional ways that testers can contribute with their special knowledge and expertise. Suggestions include quality measures and actions that test professionals can take to ensure quality when using SAFe throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC).

Agile Procurement and Contracts

Legacy contract models reflect the iron triangle between requirements constraints and estimates for cost and scheduling. The move to Lean-Agile development challenges buyers and suppliers alike to find contract constructs that provide for the flexibility to support emerging requirements and designs.
