Geoffrey Moore to keynote the 2018 Global SAFe Summit

Author, speaker, and tech company advisor Geoffrey Moore will be keynoting the 2018 Global SAFe Summit in Washington, DC. Moore’s life’s work has focused on the market dynamics surrounding disruptive innovations. He is well known for his first book, Crossing the Chasm, and his work with many prominent high-tech enterprises.

“I’ve been a fan of Geoffrey Moore for over two decades,” said SAFe Chief Methodologist Dean Leffingwell. “His seminal book, Inside the Tornado, has been our guidebook as we build Scaled Agile, Inc. And with the focus on innovation at this year’s Summit, I look forward to his guidance as to how we can help enterprises better assess potential market opportunities.”

Introducing new SAFe® DevOps course: Improving time-to-market with the Scaled Agile Framework 

We are thrilled to announce the release of our latest course: SAFe DevOps®. This new training provides a comprehensive overview for understanding the DevOps competencies needed to accelerate time-to-market by improving the flow of value through the Continuous Delivery Pipeline. In this two-day course, attendees will map the current Value Stream through their delivery pipeline from idea to cash, and identify practices that can eliminate bottlenecks to flow.

All attendees who complete the course will be eligible to take the certification exam. By passing the exam, they will earn the SAFe® 4 DevOps Practitioner (SDP) certification, including a digital badge.

SAFe® for Government Programs beta class offered next month in Washington, DC 

Transitioning to Lean-Agile practices for building digital services is especially challenging in the government context. On June 4 – 5, Scaled Agile is offering a beta class in Washington, DC: SAFe® for Government Programs. This two-day course teaches the principles and practices of SAFe, how to execute and release value through Agile Release Trains (ARTs), and what it means to lead a Lean-Agile transformation of a program inside a government agency.

12th Annual State of Agile report from CollabNet VersionOne

The latest 12th Annual State of Agile Report provides new and important insights into the current state of Agile adoption, business drivers, and benefits achieved by respondents. The report again confirmed that SAFe is "the most widely-used approach to scaling Agile, with nearly 1/3 (29%) saying that SAFe is the method they 'follow most closely'." And confirming the fast-growing trend toward DevOps, 71% of the survey respondents report that a DevOps initiative is underway or planned for the next 12 months.

SPC Silvio Wandfluh has a new, two-part blog series titled, 10 Essentials for a Distributed PI Planning, that provides some useful insights into the challenges of conducting PI Planning simultaneously at multiple locations. In Part 1 of the series, Silvio discusses the usefulness of following a Lean-Agile Code of Conduct and provides pointers for success with distributed PI Planning.
